Ingredients

  • 1 large egg’s white
  • ½ cup of water
  • ½ tablespoon of vanilla
  • 9 ounces of white or vanilla cake mix ½ of an 18 ounces package
  • 3 tablespoons of vegetable oil
  • 1 pint of washed and sliced strawberries
  • ¼ cup of all-fruit preserves melted strawberry
  • 1 ½ cup od whipped cream
  • ¾ cup of heavy cream whipped with 1 tablespoon of confectioner’s sugar

Important notes:

  • Keep in mind that cake layers can be cooled, cooled and covered tightly in kitchen temperature overnight!
  • You can add 1-2 small drops of pink or red food coloring for an extra lovely shade to the cake. I add a small drop of pink gel food coloring (this is optional).

HOW TO MAKE The Best Strawberry Cake Ever

  • First of all, place an oven rack at the bottom of the oven and set it on 350°F. Spray your baking pan with non-stick spray (don’t forget to dust it with flour).
  • Take a big bowl, mix together the following ingredients: the egg white, water, oil, cake mix, vanilla and 3 yogurts (use an electric mixer for 4 minutes).
  • Pour the batter in the cooking pan and bake for 35 minutes or until golden (you can also use a fork to check it it’s set).
  • Remove from oven and cool for some time.
  • Cut the cake and form two layers (use a thin bread knife), get your cake plate and let’s start the final step.
  • Put the first layer on the plate, spread half the preserves and cover with half the whipped cream with half the strawberries.
  • Top with the last layer, repeat the previous step and cool completely after arranging the strawberries on the top.
