13 Helpful Uses For Hydrogen Peroxide

If you have some sort of first aid kit in your home (which everyone should!), you probably have a bottle of hydrogen peroxide in there. Hydrogen peroxide works wonders for disinfecting minor cuts and scrapes, but did you know it also has a ton of other great uses? Well, you do now!

1. Stain Remover

Hydrogen peroxide and some laundry detergent will dissolve tough stains like sweat, blood, grass, and even wine

2. Glass Cleaner

Hydrogen peroxide is a great solution for cleaning and disinfecting glass and mirrors.

3. Clean Your Toothbrush

I don’t think you need me to tell you how our toothbrushes can become covered in germs and bacteria in a short amount of time. Soak your toothbrush in some hydrogen peroxide overnight before rinsing and drying in the morning.

4. Pesticide Wash

When you bring fruits and vegetables home, soak them in a solution of one part hydrogen peroxide to four parts water for about 30 minutes. When the time’s up, rinse them thoroughly before drying.

5. Combat Foot Fungus

To combat foot fungus, mix together equal parts hydrogen peroxide and water. Apply the solution to the area in question once or twice daily. You can also create a foot soak solution and soak your feet once a day.

6. Soften Calluses

If your hands or feet are covered in calluses, soak them in a solution of hydrogen peroxide and water before rinsing and drying.

7. Cleanser

Many people use a solution of hydrogen peroxide and water as a skin cleanser! Because of its antibacterial properties, it can help to ward off acne.

8. Air Purifier

Cleanse the air throughout your home by mixing together one pint of hydrogen peroxide and one gallon of water. Pour the solution into a humidifier and it will cleanse the air of bacteria and impurities.

9. Relieve Tooth Pain

Many people believe that gargling a solution of hydrogen peroxide and coconut oil is a quick way to relieve tooth pain.

10. Mouth Wash

Gargle the same solution described in #9 to eliminate and prevent bad breath!

11. All-Purpose Cleaner

There’s no need to spend lots of money on fancy cleaning products. A solution of hydrogen peroxide and water will disinfect and clean multiple surfaces throughout your home.

12. Clean Lunch Boxes

Lunch boxes can accumulate a ton of germs over time. Wipe them down with some hydrogen peroxide to zap harmful bacteria.

13. Target Earaches

To relieve an earache or minor infection, apply a few drops of hydrogen peroxide to the ear in question. Let it sit for a few minutes, then allow the solution to drain out in a sink.
