Regardless of whether your home is one or 100 years old, everyone’s home accumulates dust. Dusting isn’t many people’s favorite chore, and it tends to be as boring as it is tedious. The next time you need to dust, try out the following hacks to make your job quicker, easier, and more effective.
1. Cloth Gloves
To clean finicky things like chandeliers and other light fixtures, spray a pair of cheap, fabric gloves with glass cleaner, then gently wipe the item in question.
2. Pillowcase
To dust your ceiling fans (and get rid of dust mites), place an old pillow case over each blade and wipe. This will trap the dust in the pillow case so that it doesn’t go all over the rest of the room.
3. Dryer Sheets
Dryer sheets are the easiest, safest way to dust computer and TV screens. Give it a try and see for yourself!
4. Socks
The easiest, most effective way to dust blinds and other hard-to-reach places is by slipping an old sock over your hand and using it to wipe the surfaces down.
5. Baby Wipes
To remove dust and other gunk from your computer’s keyboard, take a baby wipe and carefully wipe the spaces in between the keys. A Q-tip also works well for this.
6. Paintbrush
If you have a lot of trinkets and knickknacks in your home, use a paintbrush to carefully remove the dust from their crevices and other hard-to-reach areas.
