I and one of my children are allergic to bees, wasps and the whole family. For this reason, I am always looking for effective methods to control these populations. The last few years seem to have been particularly bad in terms of the number of forest bees that swarm our outdoor spaces (probably because we have a fence, a deck, a wooden gazebo, etc.) Fortunately, there is a simple and inexpensive way to control these bee populations that involves only a common household ingredient.
Facebook user Jill Gilmore Pritchett revealed that PineSol is extremely effective in killing these bees. Just cut a plastic milk jug at an angle, pour PineSol into it, and the bees will be attracted by the sweet smell. Hang the jar in a place where there are bees, such as on top of a porch or fence.
I should mention that all bee populations are important – bees are necessary pollinators, and we depend on them for the fruits and vegetables we eat. I wouldn’t use methods to destroy bees if we weren’t severely allergic. That said, if you haven’t noticed any problems with bees and you don’t have allergies, consider quitting. Forest bees do not eat wood, they tunnel into the wood, eventually causing damage.
