The proper ways to keep spiders away from your bed

Beds are one of mankind’s most pleasurable creations because there’s nothing like lying in your bed after a long day at school or at work, the sensation is just too good to be true, but one of the worst things that can happen to you is coming back home and finding spiders hanging out in between your sheet.

Spiders can be annoying and they can bite you (sometimes they could be carrying some kind of diseases, or sometimes the bite can cause an allergic reaction). When it comes to sending off spiders, you have to take precautious measures to keep them off before they crawl up onto your mattress. Without further are, here are 7 ways that can help you keep spiders away from your bed.

1. Clean your bedding often

Although this sounds simple, it has an incredible effect. To keep the crawling beasts off of your bed, change beddings and clean them often because spiders are attracted to skin cells, oils, and hair that settles on your sheets.

2. Don’t store boxes or anything else under the bed

Avoid putting stuff under your bed especially boxes because that can provide an easy home for spiders that can become a gateway to your bed. Make sure to clean the area under your bed often and keep it debris-free to keep spiders away.

3. Spray your sheets with essential oils

Some smells can repel and can even be toxic to spiders. For example, lemon, orange, lavender, and mint essential oils have scents that can successfully repel ants. All you have to do is mix some drops of one of the prementioned essential oils with water, then pour the solution in a spray bottle and start spraying your bedding to keep spiders away (and to freshen up the smell a little bit).

4. Keep your bed away from the wall

If your bead does not have a headboard and is pushed against a wall, then spiders will gain easy access into the sheets through wall cracks. Make sure to keep your bed a tiny bit away from the wall and any appliances or furniture.
