A cold icy Sonic slush is the BEST on a warm day. But who wants to hop in a hot car to get it? Not us! Now you don’t have to. You can stay nice and cool in your own home AND enjoy a cool refreshing drink! 

These slushies have bursts of flavor in every sip. You can customize your own Sonic Slush with fun candy add-ins like Nerds or Pop Rocks and change the flavor by using powdered drink mix. We love blue raspberry, cherry, orange, and fruit punch.

Instructions

  1. First, add half of the ingredients in the order listed to a high-powered blender. 
  2. Mix on high until smooth.
  3. Pour mixture into cups. Top with desired toppings.
  4. Finally, repeat with the remaining ingredients.

Recipe Variations and Substitutions

  • Serve slushes with various toppings such as whipped cream, sprinkles, Nerds, or Pop Rocks.
  •  You can also use flavored syrup, flavored extract, or fresh fruit in place of the powdered drink mix.
  • To make a float add ice cream after the slushie is blended. To make a Sonic Cream Slush, mix the ice cream into the slushie.

Storage Tips

Serve: These will keep for about an hour at room temperature before it completely melts. If you want it to last longer than that, serve it from a steel tumbler.

  • 4 cups ice water 3 cups cold water in a measuring cup and fill with ice to 1 cups
  • 8 cups ice
  • ⅔ cup granulated sugar
  • 1 Tablespoon or 2 packets powdered drink mix

FOR SERVING:

  • Vanilla ice cream optional **see notes

  • Sprinkles optional
