You would then be able to expel them from the oven or food dehydrator and let them cool. When they have cooled place them in cooler safe baggies and store them in the cooler.
If you might want to make sun-dried tomatoes in olive oil, you can put a portion of the tomatoes in a small jar and spread the tomatoes with olive oil. I like to include some ground basil for additional flavor. Store in the fridge.
The solidified sun-dried tomatoes will last around one year in the cooler. If you include the olive oil, it will last two or three weeks in the fridge. My family loves the sun-dried tomatoes over our pizza or with mozzarella cheddar.
Making sun-dried tomatoes doesn’t take a lot of time and it’s so pleasant to have the option to enjoy produce from the garden throughout the entire year.
