It’s one of the easiest ways to make homemade soft pretzels and the results are even more delicious. Soft pretzel dough is a family recipe that requires only 10 minutes of rest before shaping. The quick boiling of the baking soda gives the pretzels their traditional flavor.

Ingredients : 

Dough
  • 1 1/2 cup warm water
  • 1 tablespoon sugar
  • 2 teaspoons salt
  • 2 1/2 teaspoons active dry yeast (1 pkg)
  • 4 cups all-purpose flour
  • 2 oz butter melted
Water Bath
  • 10 cups water
  • 2/3 cup baking soda
Topping
  • 1 large egg yolk beaten with 1 tablespoon water
  • kosher salt
