“While watching a cooking show featuring Philly Cheesesteaks, I was inspired to create a casserole version that my boyfriend absolutely loves. It does take some time, but the delicious result is well worth the effort.

Ingredients:

  • 1 1/2 pounds of lean ground beef
  • 2 bell peppers
  • 1/2 yellow onion
  • 1 clove garlic
  • 1 teaspoon seasoned salt (such as Lawry’s or Morton’s)
  • 4 slices of Provolone cheese
  • 4 large eggs
  • 1/4 cup heavy cream
  • 1 teaspoon hot sauce
  • 1 teaspoon Worcestershire sauce

Directions:

  1. Start by preheating your oven to 350 degrees Fahrenheit and spray a 9×9 baking dish with non-stick spray.
  2. Dice the bell peppers and onion into bite-sized pieces, and mince the garlic.
  3. In a skillet, add the ground beef and cook it over medium heat, breaking it apart as it cooks.
  4. When the beef is partially cooked and still slightly pink, add the diced peppers, onions, minced garlic, and seasoned salt. Continue cooking, stirring frequently, until the beef is fully cooked, and the vegetables have softened.
  5. Drain any excess grease from the skillet and transfer the beef and vegetable mixture into the prepared baking dish.
  6. Tear the Provolone cheese into small pieces and evenly distribute it over the beef mixture. (Feel free to use extra cheese if you like it extra cheesy.)
  7. In a mixing bowl, combine the eggs, heavy cream, hot sauce, and Worcestershire sauce. Whisk these ingredients together until well blended.
  8. Pour the egg mixture over the beef and cheese in the baking dish.
  9. Place the dish in the preheated oven and bake for approximately 35 minutes, or until the eggs are fully set.
  10. Allow the casserole to sit for 5 minutes before slicing and serving.

This Philly Cheesesteak Casserole is a delightful twist on the classic sandwich, and it’s sure to be a hit!”
