The pie filling is dolloped on top but the crust magically bakes around it. This comes out of the oven with a beautiful golden brown crust. You can use any fruit you’d like. We opted for apple but cherry or blueberry would be delicious too. If you like a lot of fruit, you can even add an extra can of filling to the cobbler. Serve with a scoop of ice cream for a delicious dessert.

- 1 cgranulated sugar
- 1 cself-rising flour
- 1 canpie filling (apple, cherry, or peach) or fresh fruit (21 oz)
- 1 stickbutter, unsalted
- 1 cmilk
- 1 tspvanilla extract
How To Make Poor Man’s Apple Cobbler
- 1– Preheat oven to 350 degrees.
- 2– Melt butter in a 9×13 (preferably glass) baking dish. Do this by placing it in the oven while it preheats.
- 3– Mix sugar, flour, vanilla, and milk in a mixing bowl.
- 4– Pour mixture into baking dish over the butter. Do not mix with butter.
- 5– Spoon in apples or your fruit of choice in random spots.
- 6– Bake for 45 minutes.
- 7– The crust will rise around apples. Serve. Enjoy!
