I might be biased, but I think I’ve found the BEST red velvet cake recipe! This cake comes out so fluffy and moist, and the homemade cream cheese frosting is perfectly sweet. Try it out for yourself!
Ingredients
- 2 1/2 cups all purpose flour
- 1 1/2 cup granulated sugar
- 1 1/2 cup vegetable oil
- 1 cup buttermilk at room temperature
- 2 large eggs at room temperature
- 1 tsp baking soda
- 1 tsp salt
- 1 tsp white distilled vinegar
- 2 tsp unsweetened baking cocoa
- 1 1/2 tsp vanilla extract
- 1 oz red food coloring
Cream Cheese Frosting
- 16 oz cream cheese softened
- 1 cup unsalted butter softened
- 8 cups powdered sugar
- 1 tbsp milk
- 2 tsp vanilla extract
