Renters face a number of design and decorating challenges that landlords don’t. After all, it’s a rental – so you’re pretty limited in what you can change in a space. However, renters everywhere could take a lesson or two from blogger Tonya Payne of Hey Tonya. She totally transformed a rental laundry room using only dollar store items, and the end result is pretty spectacular.
Before you transform your own laundry room, here are some simple tips Tonya offers to make the project more successful. She recommends using a single color to give the space a cohesive look. She also suggests using wire shelves and using hook and loop baskets or bins to attach them to the shelves.
Tonya also explains that you should try to use every inch of wall space available to you. Even though her laundry room is just a double-wide closet with a washer and dryer in it, she manages to store cleaners, laundry products and more in a neat and organized way. Another important tip? Make this space a place where you want to spend time! Don’t overlook the personal details that make a space feel like it’s yours.
