Switch to a woolen material.

Thick socks are one of the most wonderful things about winter. They are very comfortable. However, the thicker the socks, the more uncomfortable the shoes will be. Fortunately, there is an easy solution to this. Wool socks are thinner, lighter, and better at keeping you warm. People have been using wool to keep warm for thousands of years, and for good reason.

They’re not as comfortable as cotton socks, but if your shoes or boots are snug, you’re better off wearing wool socks instead of cotton.

Let the air circulate.

It’s great to keep your home comfortable in the winter. However, on the other hand, there are drawbacks. Especially in winter, the air in your home can become stuffy if you don’t open your windows often because you’re worried about heat escaping. However, it’s usually a good idea to leave the windows open a little. Try to let a little air circulate, especially before going to bed.

Just opening the window for about 5 minutes will help you sleep better by allowing you to get fresh air instead of the air that has been trapped in your room all day.

Wipe your windows with a card.

Overnight, frost can build up on your windows, so it’s important to scrub them before you leave in the morning. In fact, it’s almost always impossible to drive without scrubbing your windows. If you’re having a hard time finding a window squeegee, get out your wallet. A credit card is enough to clear the ice from your windows.

Of course, you may want to use an old card so you still have a way to pay for your morning coffee. If you don’t have a credit card, you can also use an old driver’s license.

Take advantage of the sunshine there.

This isn’t really a DIY solution, but it’s something that many people tend to forget to do during the winter months. That is to take advantage of the sunlight, especially in the morning. The first thing you do when you get up in the morning is put on your jacket and take a walk to absorb some vitamin D, which is often lacking in the winter.

The morning hours are also a great time to warm up, as the sun’s rays tend to make you feel warm. It also allows you to create winter memories instead of staying indoors.

Snow chains on your bike.

If you live in an area that gets a lot of snow in the winter, you probably know about snow chains on car tires. But what about winterizing your bike? Just because it’s winter doesn’t mean you should stop exercising. Fortunately, there’s an easy DIY solution to winterize your bike tires. All you need is a zipper tie. Just zip tie your bike tires and you’re done.

The zip tie gives your bike enough traction to keep it from sliding around, keeping you safe while you’re commuting to work or out exercising.

Take a cold shower.

Many people won’t like this hack. However, taking a hot shower in the winter can dry out your skin and in some cases lead to a cold. That’s why many people prefer to take warm or cold showers in the winter. Not only does this prevent your skin from drying out, but it also helps your body adjust to the cold and helps you wake up in the morning.

Of course, if you’re not used to taking cold showers in the winter, that’s not an option. But try it at least once. After the initial shock, you may find that you like it.

Pour hot water over it.

There are several ways to do this hack. You could fill the tub with hot water, but that’s a bit of a waste. Alternatively, you can leave the tub full of hot water after you’ve taken a bath. Either way, the end result is the same. If you fill the tub with hot water and leave it running, your house will be warmer.

The hot water will put out heat and create a warmer, more humid space. Just be sure to drain the water as soon as the effect is over.
