I grew up in a kosher home, which meant I was raised on certain brands of food. We always bought the same brand of cold cuts, cereal, ketchup, Sriracha and sausage. That’s what we did. Hot dogs, in particular, are such an institution that many non-kosher restaurants and establishments, and even non-kosher people, have them in their refrigerators.
And while those hot dogs are good (really good), I’m here to tell you about a lesser-known brand that has completely rocked my world: A&H All-Beef Kosher Hot Dogs.
Why are A&H All-Beef kosher hot dogs so good?
A few years ago, a family friend introduced me and my parents (with whom I was living at the time) to hot dogs and sausage. After my dad grilled hot dogs for the first time, I changed my mind. It was love at first bite.
They don’t get too fatty on the grill, they don’t shrink either, and they have a nice texture. But what really sets the A&H hot dogs apart from the ones we’ve been using so far is the smoky flavor. It adds an extra layer of flavor and makes me think beyond the bun. Plus, it’s an easy way to add protein to my meals.
What is the best way to serve A&H All-Beef kosher hot dogs?
I used to eat hot dogs exclusively on the grill or in my grandmother’s potato and hot dog casserole, a Sukkot recipe. Nowadays, I add diced A&H hot dogs to my morning bowls of egg rice and sliced to my ramen, so I can enjoy them year-round. That’s why I always have a pack (or two!) in the fridge. Of course, these hot dogs are now a staple at barbecues until fall.
One time I couldn’t get A&H hot dogs, so I bought my own and I have to say that won’t happen again. I’m an A&H girl forever and ever. Whether you’re kosher, Jewish or neither, I can’t stop recommending this fridge staple.
