Most people have a bottle of Listerine stored in their bathroom cabinet. After all, who wouldn’t want to have minty-fresh breath all the time?! Although Listerine is most commonly known as a mouthwash, it also has a ton of other uses that most people don’t know about.

1.  Toilet Bowl Cleaner

If you run out of toilet bowl cleaner, Listerine basically does the same job. If you pour a little bit around the rim of your toilet bowl and scrub, it’ll disinfect and deodorize the surface, just like a normal toilet bowl cleaner would.

2. Deodorant

If you notice that you’ve run out of deodorant on your way out the door, don’t panic. Use a cotton ball to apply a bit of Listerine to your underarms as a temporary solution.

3. Facial Cleanser

Since Listerine has such great antiseptic ingredients, it can be a great cleanser for targeting acne. However, if you have sensitive skin, you should probably just stick with a normal, gentle cleanser.

4. Cellphone Cleaner

Since our cellphones carry a ton of germs, it’s important to clean them regularly. Wiping a small amount of Listerine onto your phone screen will disinfect it in a pinch.

5. Foot Soak

If you’ve accumulated some gross toe fungus, mix together some warm water and Listerine and soak your feet in the solution. The antiseptic properties should clear up the fungus in no time.

6. Stops The Itch

You’ll make a bug bite worse by constantly scratching at it. Apply a bit of Listerine to a cotton ball, then dab it onto your bug bite. It’ll quickly take away the itch.

7. Eliminates Dandruff

If you suffer from dandruff, try massaging a bit of Listerine onto your scalp. Wrap your hair in a towel, and after a few minutes, rinse the Listerine out. Bye bye, flakes!

8. Kills Head Lice

The over-the-counter products rarely work for lice. Instead, soak your head in Listerine, then fasten your hair into a shower cap. After a few hours, rinse out the Listerine. Repeat once daily until the lice is gone.

9. Toothbrush Cleaner

Although we may not think about it, toothbrushes should be cleaned regularly. Soak your toothbrushes in a cup of Listerine, then rinse them off for a germ-free toothbrush.

10. Removes Ticks

It’s important NOT to yank out a tick the second you see one. The head could break off and get stuck, and then you’ve got a real problem. Just pour some Listerine over the tick. After a few minutes, the tick should let go and come out more easily.

11. Heals Bruises

If you’ve got a nasty bruise, use a cotton ball to apply some Listerine to the area. The Listerine will encourage more blood flow to the area, which will help the bruise to heal faster.
