13 cleaning tips for a spotless, germ-free home

Cleaning is not what I would call a fun chore. It’s tedious, time consuming and can be exhausting. However, there are a few cleaning tricks that make the task easier and faster. Here they are

  1. clean stainless steel.
    There’s no need to buy expensive stainless steel cleaners. Just put a little olive oil on a microfiber cloth and it will work just as well on your stainless steel appliances.

2- descaling a kettle
To clean and descale your kettle, fill it with distilled vinegar and bring it to a boil. You can repeat the process several times if your kettle is particularly flaky.

3- deodorize furniture
To deodorize fabric furniture, sprinkle it with a good amount of baking soda. Leave it on for a few hours and then vacuum. The baking soda will absorb and trap odors, leaving your furniture smelling fresh.

4-shine chrome hardware.
To remove water spots and shine chrome fixtures, rub them with a piece of waxed paper.

5- restore burnt pans
To remove burnt residue from your pots and pans, sprinkle them with baking soda and then add vinegar. Let the solution stand for about 15 minutes before scrubbing and rinsing.

6- disinfecting wooden cutting boards
To disinfect a wooden cutting board, sprinkle it with a small amount of coarse salt. Then use the fleshy part of a lemon cut in half to allow the salt to penetrate the board before rinsing it thoroughly.

7-clean the microwave
To clean and deodorize the microwave, fill a bowl with water and a few slices of lemon. Put the solution in the microwave for a few minutes to create steam with lemon. When the time is up, carefully remove the bowl and wipe the microwave with a damp cloth.

    To shine a porcelain bathtub, sprinkle it with a generous amount of baking soda before sprinkling it with vinegar. Leave for about 15 minutes, then scrub and rinse thoroughly.

9- Clean up spilled nail polish
If you spill nail polish, immediately pour sugar on the spilled polish. The sugar will cause the nail polish to clump together and you can sweep it up on the floor.

10- clean shower glass
To remove hard water stains from shower glass, make a solution of vinegar, lemon juice and baking soda. Spray the solution directly onto the glass. Leave the solution on for a few minutes, then scrub it into the glass with a scrub brush before rinsing.

11- Shine your dishes
To shine glasses and other utensils, place a cup of distilled vinegar in the top compartment of the dishwasher. Do not let the vinegar run into the rinse compartment of the dishwasher, as the acid can damage the rubber seals.

To unclog a sink, pour coarse salt and baking soda into the sink. Then pour distilled vinegar down the drain.

To remove heat stains from a wooden table, apply a little mayonnaise to the area. Place a piece of plastic wrap over the mayonnaise and leave it on overnight. The next morning, remove the mayonnaise and plastic wrap and wipe with a damp cloth.
