Let’s get right to the chase — cleaning the house sucks. I don’t think I know a single person who actually enjoys cleaning. So if you could make the job easier, you’d probably want to, right? Check out the following cleaning hacks to make housework far less of a chore.
1. Lint-Roll Lampshades
Lampshades quickly collect dust, fuzz, and other stuff. Get them looking clean again by using a lint roller.
2. Dish Soap And Blender
To deep clean your blender, add a couple drops of dish soap and some warm water to your blender. Hit the pulse mode a few times before rinsing thoroughly.
3. Unclog A Showerhead
To unclog a showerhead, fill a plastic bag with distilled vinegar. Fasten the plastic bag to the showerhead using an elastic band. Let it sit overnight, then remove the bag in the morning.
4. Shower Gel
When you’re having a shower, take a bit of shower gel and rub it on your shower walls and floor. The gel acts as a sort of soap and will clean the mildew and grime from your shower.
5. Sock Blind Cleaner
The easiest way to clean your blinds? Put a sock over your hand and use it to dust in between your blinds.
6. The Sun
Once you’ve washed your clothes, hang them on a line outside to dry. Not only will the sun brighten and disinfect your clothing, but you’ll also save money on your energy bill.
7. Clean With Lemons
To clean cast iron cookware and wood cutting boards, use coarse salt and the fleshy part of a lemon to scrub them.
8. Pick Up Glass
If you need to pick up broken glass, use a piece of bread! The soft part of the bread will pick up all the little shards.
9. Deodorize Your Home
If you want your home to smell fresh and clean, put a dryer sheet in front of your vents or air conditioning unit. Just remember to remove it after a short time!
