It’s hard to imagine today’s world without the Internet. A world where there are no e-mails, no search engines that list billions of items of information, no video platforms, no applications that make our lives easier. Today, thanks to technological advances, we can connect to broadband Internet even in remote places. However, before going to bed, it’s a good idea to disable WiFi for a good reason.

So why do we need to disable WiFi during our sleeping hours? Let’s find out!

Why disable Wi-Fi on your cell phone at night?

By disabling Wifi, you block the automatic search for Internet networks, thus avoiding battery drain on your mobile device.

What’s more, if you disable your wireless network, you won’t be woken up by the multiple notifications that come from your phone’s apps. So, if you can, turn off your phone for a better quality of sleep.

To disable Wifi, go to Settings then choose the Wifi option and turn it off. You can also put the phone in airplane mode at night to cut network reception.

You can also switch off the Wifi box, which also reduces power consumption and saves energy.

Why is my Wifi weak?

You’ve certainly experienced it: when a Wifi signal is weak, your Internet connection suffers.

Wifi signals can become weaker for a number of reasons. Firstly, the 802.11g WIFI standard is more powerful than 802.11b. It extends the signal range to around 40 m. So don’t forget to configure this standard on your PC by clicking on the connection icon ” properties ” general ” configure ” advanced ” 802.11g standard.

What’s more, your Internet speed becomes slower if your neighbors connect to your wifi network. If you haven’t already done so, secure your network with a password so you can enjoy your wifi connection as it should be.

Finally, your WIFI signal may be weakened by the presence of numerous electronic devices in the vicinity.

How can I get a stronger WiFi signal?

As mentioned above, your wifi access can be affected by interference, which weakens the strength and range of a signal. However, there are a few ways you can boost your Wifi on your smartphones, tablets or laptops.

-Place the box in a central room of the house to minimize obstacles likely to reduce the connection. It’s best to place it in an open area to avoid degrading the Wifi signal.

  • Leave a 2-meter gap between the box and other wireless devices.
  • Use a Wifi repeater to extend the connection to other rooms in the house. This must be connected to the box with a long-distance Ethernet cable that carries the signal throughout the house.
  • Prefer the 5GHz frequency to avoid signal interference with other devices.
