There are so many times when I think we could really use another room. However, there would be no way to add a room to our existing floor plan without doing a major renovation, and that’s definitely not something I’m looking to do. Amazon is now selling a lovely cabin kit that could easily be used as a backyard guest house.
The Allwood Solvalla Studio Cabin Kit/Garden House is a structure offering 172 square feet of interior floor space. With two adults working on the project, this cabin kit can be easily assembled within just eight hours. Not too bad when you think of how time consuming a traditional home addition or renovation would be!
The cabin kit includes all materials and hardware with the exception of the roof tiles and foundation (a cement slab is probably the best foundation option). The Allwood Solvalla cabin retails for $7,250, with Allwood offering other cabin kits for lower prices as well. If you have the outdoor space, a structure like this could be a great option.
With the indoor/outdoor space of this cabin, you could easily use the indoor section for a guest bed and the outdoor section as a lovely little sitting area. Alternatively, you could use the space as a home office, studio, or just a place to chill out and relax. Of course, this cabin could also be used to store garden tools (with perhaps a covered barbecue area on the other side?). The options are endless when it comes to this cabin, and with such a reasonable price point, it seems like it’s definitely worth considering!
