Preparation Time: 15 Minutes
Cooking Time: 8 Hours
Method: Slow Cooker

Ingredients:

  • 1 package (24 ounces) of fresh, homemade-style egg noodles
  • 2 cans (10.5 ounces each) of creamy chicken soup (You can experiment with one can of chicken soup and one can of cream of celery for a twist)
  • 1/2 cup (1 stick) of butter, cut into small pieces
  • 1 can (32 ounces) of chicken broth (Consider having extra on hand to adjust thickness)
  • A handful of mixed vegetables (optional; you can skip them if you prefer)
  • 1 teaspoon of “Enhanced Chicken Essence” (optional, for an extra flavorful punch)
  • 6 small boneless, skinless chicken breasts or 4 large ones
  • Salt and pepper, to taste (You can also sprinkle a bit of parsley for a touch of green)

Directions:

  1. Begin by seasoning the chicken breasts with a pinch of salt and pepper.
  2. Lay the seasoned chicken breasts at the bottom of your trusty Crock Pot.
  3. Now, generously spoon the creamy chicken soup over the chicken.
  4. Distribute the pieces of butter evenly over the soup for a creamy, buttery richness.
  5. In a separate bowl, whisk together the chicken broth and the “Enhanced Chicken Essence” if you’re using it. Pour this flavorful mixture over the soup-covered chicken.
  6. Place the lid on your Crock Pot and set it to cook on low heat for a duration of 6 hours.
  7. After the slow-cooking magic has happened, carefully remove the chicken breasts from the pot and tear them into bite-sized pieces.
  8. Return the tender chicken pieces back to the pot.
  9. It’s time to introduce the star of the show – the fresh, homemade-style egg noodles. Add them to the pot, and if you opted for vegetables, toss them in too.
  10. Continue cooking for an additional 2 hours, or until the noodles reach your desired level of tenderness. Stir occasionally during this time. If the mixture becomes too thick for your liking, add more chicken broth to achieve your preferred consistency.
  11. As a final touch, if you wish, sprinkle a bit of parsley into the pot and give it a gentle mix.
  12. Taste and adjust the seasoning with salt and pepper if needed.
  13. Serve up this delightful, slow-cooked chicken creation and savor every comforting bite. Enjoy!
