WHAT IS CORNBRED?

Cornbread is simply bread made with cornmeal and it’s usually leavened by baking powder. Popular for being able to be baked in several ways; fried, baked or steamed (it can also bake into corn cakes). Simple Steps:

  1. Set your oven to 375°F and prepare your baking dish.
  2. In a medium bowl, stir sugar and melted butter then beat with an egg; add buttermilk and baking soda.
  3. Stir the mixture in cornmeal, salt and flour!
  4. Pour the mixture onto the baking dish.
  5. Bake for 40 minutes and serve along with preferred sides!

  • Non-stick spray

HOW TO MAKE IT : 

  • First of all, set your oven at 375°F and get your 10-inch baking dish sprayed with non-stick spray (you can also use any other pan you have).
  • Take a big bowl, combine together all the dry ingredients (cornmeal, white sugar, salt, baking soda, all-purpose flour); and in a separate bowl, combine the wet ingredients (melted butter, buttermilk, eggs).
  • Whisk together the two mixtures with a wooden spoon for 4 minutes.
  • Pour the batter in the baking pan or dish then bake for 40 minutes.
  • Serve warm with preferred sides!
