I believe that autumn will never cease to be my favorite season. Between the changing leaves, the fresh air and the bustling Halloween decorations, there’s a lot to look forward to, except for the soggy, rotting pumpkins that begin to ooze and stink. Luckily, there is a super simple trick to preserving your pumpkins that I will definitely try this fall.

All you need for this hack is some distilled vinegar, water, and a bathtub or container big enough to hold your pumpkins. Fill the tub with one part vinegar and 10 parts water and soak the pumpkins for about 30 minutes. When the time is up, remove them from the solution and let them air dry.

The reason this hack works so well is that the vinegar kills any mold (even the ones you can’t see) in the pumpkin, causing the pumpkins to rot and become soaked. Plus, since vinegar is a natural product, you won’t have to worry about chemicals that are harmful to your pets or your family.
