The different varieties of mint

Benefits of peppermint

As a vasoconstrictor, peppermint is effective against “minor illnesses” such as sinusitis or rhinitis. It clears the respiratory tract and relieves congestion of the mucous membranes.

As an infusion, it is very effective against stomach ailments and facilitates digestion by stimulating bile secretion. Eaten fresh, peppermint leaves also improve the work of the urinary tract.

Finally, this aromatic plant contains numerous antioxidants thanks to the vitamins C, E and beta-carotene it contains.

The list is long indeed. Peppermint also helps the liver to function properly and aids digestion. Thanks to its refreshing and healing properties, it also has a beneficial effect on the scalp and skin.

Contraindications
High doses of peppermint can cause headaches, digestive problems and increased blood pressure. Herbal teas and other peppermint teas are not recommended for children under 5 years of age.

If you recommend the use of peppermint essential oil, you should also be aware that it should not be used by children under 12 years of age. Like many essential oils, it should not be used pure, as it can cause burns. It should always be diluted in a neutral oil.
