Ahhh, the 80s. A glorious decade full of perms and feathered bangs. In all honesty, the 80s is one of my favorite fashion decades. Minus the bright blue and purple eye shadow, there were so many amazing styles to come out of this decade. And one of them is back in style, which we so often see with trends gone by: the banana clip. If you recall, the banana clip was a double-sided, plastic hair clip with teeth in the middle and curved in the shape of a banana. It was used to secure hair into a ponytail or bun, and it created the volume we all desperately craved in the 80s (and today too, for many of us).

Now, there are beautiful, bejeweled banana clips like this one – they make for such a beautiful ponytail!

If you’re feeling nostalgic and want to jump on this trend in 2022, there are multiple places you can buy a banana clip from. Etsy shop AniSaAccessories sells these beautiful matte, earth-toned banana clips.
