Well, there is a way to know and it only takes a cup of water and a quarter. All you have to do is freeze the water completely and place a quarter on the top of the ice with the quarter’s back to the freezer.
This method may seem a little bit odd and useless, but it’s not because if there was a power break, you will find the quarter shifted towards the bottom the cup and that means that your food went through a long phase without refrigeration and it is probably not safe for consumption. If the quarter was found in the middle, then your food is probably still good to eat.
To me, this method is a game-changer because so many persons come back home and have no clue whether or not their house experienced a power break.
