Everyone uses aluminum foil on a regular basis, either to cover baking trays or to wrap food for better preservation. But did you know that aluminum foil can be used in other ways? One of them is to wrap your hands and feet with it. Why? This is what we are going to find out in this article.
Would you have thought that aluminum foil could work effectively on your hands and feet?
Here’s how it works.
This is what happens when you wrap your hands and feet in aluminum foil.
Aluminum foil is indispensable in any kitchen, no one denies that. But very few people know that it can be very useful in many other situations. Although some of its uses may seem far-fetched at first glance, you’re sure to be surprised by its usefulness!
Relieving the cold
When temperatures drop, feet and hands are usually the first parts of our body to feel it. Sometimes even socks and gloves don’t help. So, no need to look further to solve this problem, the solution is in your kitchen. Indeed, thanks to its insulating properties, aluminum foil is a formidable weapon against the cold. It allows to retain heat and to warm up these parts of our body quickly.
How to proceed?
Take a roll of aluminum foil;
Cut out 6 or 7 sheets and wrap the area (you can ask a friend or family member to help you);
Between each two layers, put a cotton pad and fix it with a bandage;
Wait for 1 to 2 hours and then remove it;
Let your feet or hands rest for 2 hours before repeating the procedure.
Calming joint and muscle pain
Pain, especially in the legs, is very difficult to bear. Of course, there are specific treatments and creams that can be used in this case, but when you need an urgent solution, the aluminum foil can be of great help.
This tip will help relieve arthritis, sciatica, gout and all other pains felt in the hands, feet and knees.
Please note: You must remember, however, that this treatment is only effective in relieving symptoms, not a cure. If you think you have arthritis or other rheumatic diseases, you should consult a doctor and follow an appropriate treatment.
How do I do it?
First, wrap the painful area of your body with aluminum foil.
Use a medical bandage to keep the foil in place.
Ideally, leave it on overnight (or while you rest during the day).
Repeat the procedure for 7 to 10 days, then take a break for 2 weeks.
However, if the pain does not subside and you do not feel any improvement, consider consulting a specialist as soon as possible.
Relieve burns
Aluminum foil can also be used to soothe minor burns. How can it be used? First of all, you need to clean the burn carefully after having passed it under water. Dry the area by gently patting it with a clean towel. Then, place a gauze over the wound after applying a moisturizing and healing ointment and wrap aluminum foil over the wound. Finally, secure it with a bandage and rest. When the pain subsides, remove it.
After reading this article, you’ll never look at aluminum foil in the same way again. So don’t hesitate to use it in different ways!
