Rubbing alcohol is a very famous product that can be found in almost any house because of its multiple uses. However, only a handful of people actually know the powerful uses of rubbing alcohol, and that is why we wanted to share the information with the rest of you. Before we get into this you should know that there are 2 main types of rubbing alcohol, Ethyl alcohol (97.5 to 100% denatured ethanol, very toxic), and Isopropyl (70% alcohol and other bitter additives, very toxic).
1. Eliminate ticks.
To get rid of ticks, make sure to soak a cotton ball in rubbing alcohol, then rub it all around the tick. Once you finish the area treatment, use tweezers to remove the annoying insects.
2. Soothe mosquito bites.
Sometimes mosquito bites can cause some uncomfortableness. To fix that, soak a cotton ball in rubbing alcohol and dab it on the bitten area.
3. Kill bedbugs.
If you are dealing with a bedbug invasion and you want to solve that problem as soon as possible, make sure to pour isopropyl rubbing alcohol in a spray bottle and use it to spritz the box springs, headboard, and braiding of the mattress. Once the alcohol comes in contact with the bugs, it will kill them instantly. To get rid of the laid eggs, make sure to spray the rubbing alcohol frequently, but don’t use the mattress until it dries out completely.
4. Kill fruit flies.
If fruit flies are constantly raiding you and you want to get rid of them once and for all, make sure to spray them with rubbing alcohol to kill and repel them.
5. Remove stains.
Some hard stains like coffee and ink stains are very hard to clean, but using rubbing alcohol can make your life way easier. Simply mix 2 parts water with 1 part rubbing alcohol, then pour the solution in a spray bottle and spray it directly on the stains.
6. Deodorize sneakers.
If you suffer from bad feet smells, then it’s probably because of your shoes. Deodorize your sneakers by spraying the shoes’ interior with rubbing alcohol. Let the shoes dry for an entire night before wearing them again.
7. De-garlic hands.
If you cook with garlic a lot, then you know how bad the smell that stays in your hand is. Simply rinse your finger off with rubbing alcohol using a tub and rinse your hands with water and hand soap once you’re done.
8. Treat sore muscles.

If you like making stuff at home, then you can make a hand sanitizer at home using simple ingredients. Mix 1 part aloe vera with 3 parts rubbing alcohol and just like that, you made a DIY hand sanitizer.

To heal and shrink cold sores, make sure to dab rubbing alcohol on the sore.
11. Clean eyeglasses.
If you want streak-free eyeglasses, spritz them with rubbing alcohol and use a soft cloth to wipe them clean.
