Salisbury steak is one of our favorite foods. Tender beef burgers simmered in a rich brown sauce with mushrooms and onions. This slow-cooked Salisbury steak is perfect for serving over mashed potatoes, rice or pasta.
Original recipe makes 8 servings
2 pounds lean ground beef
1 (1 ounce) envelope dry onion soup mix
1/2 cup Italian seasoned bread crumbs
1/4 cup milk
1/4 cup all-purpose flour
2 tablespoons vegetable oil
2 (10.75 ounce) cans condensed cream of chicken soup
1 (1 ounce) packet dry au jus mix
3/4 cup water
