5. Ceiling fans
Most people when cleaning ceiling fans, wipe the blades with a cloth, but that method is not 100% effective because most of the dust is transferred to the furniture and floor. The proper way to clean the blades is by using a pillowcase. All you have to do is cover a blade with a pillowcase then slide it back towards you so that the dust gets trapped in the pillowcase.
6. Walls
Walls are a dust magnet even if we don’t pay attention to it. To effectively clean them, use a brush attachment on your vacuum to clean the walls and the vacuum hose for wall vents. The method may take some time, but the results are totally worth it.
7. Car vents
When you are cleaning your car, don’t forget about the vents because they too collect a lot of that. The worst thing is that they start blowing dust into your car once you turn on the heater or air conditioner. Make sure to use a foam brush to clean the vents from the stuck-on dust.
8. Light fixtures
When it comes to light fixtures, cleaning depends on their type. If you have standing light fixtures, hanging light fixtures, or chandeliers, then use a lamb wool duster to remove the dust (make sure to be gentle). If you have a recessed can light, then use a damp cloth to get rid of the dust.
9. Wood furniture
The good news is wood furniture is the easiest to clean because you can use basically anything you want to clean it, from dust cloths and feather dusters to old and worn-out T-shirts, the choice does not really matter. However, if the wood has a lot of dust on it, then the best method to go with is dampen a cloth a few minutes before using it.
10. Clean dust and gunk from the windshield
When people clean their car windshields, they often focus on the exterior side because it has the most obvious stains, but the interior part is not that innocent because it has a residue that accumulated because of smoking, dust, oils, body fluids (that come out when you or someone else coughs or sneezes). Make sure to focus on the inside of your windshield as much as you focus on the exterior part.
11. Leather furniture
Cleaning leather furniture needs focus and a gentle touch. To effectively get rid of dust from leather furniture, vacuum the furniture’s crevices and follow it with a wipe down using a cloth
12. Electronics
Cleaning electronics is a hard thing because you have to deal with extremely narrow spaces that can’t be cleaned with normal products or cloths. The proper solution is cotton swabs, they can moreover clean the tight spaces more efficiently. When it comes to screens, make sure to use a clean dryer sheet to gently wipe the dust off of them.
13. Baseboards
Use a clean paintbrush to dust your baseboards before sweeping or vacuuming the floor because when doing that, dust sweeps of the baseboards and gathers up on the floor.
14. Knickknacks
If you have a collection of small items that you have to clean them individually but you simply won’t because it’s a tiresome and time-consuming job, then use a blow dryer set on low and cool settings to blow the dust off of them.
