6. Use the colander as a planter
Colanders can be used as planters if you are into DIY gardening. Colanders have holes that allow air and water flow which is perfect for flower planting. You can also use colored colanders to add some glow to your garden and to highlight the flowers’ colors. (Additional information: tomatoes can be planted in colanders).
7. Hanging planter
Just like the previous method, everything is the same, except this time you have to add twine through two side holes, then hand the plant anywhere on your porch.
8. Yarn holder
If you want to keep your hands busy, then there’s nothing better than crocheting, however, preventing the yarn from falling everywhere can be nerve-wracking. To solve that problem, put your yarn in a colander and start pulling it through a hole to keep it tangle-free.
9. Cake pop storage
If you love making cake pops, then you know how frustrating it is when the cake frosting smashes. You can prevent that from happening by storing cake pops in a colander (make sure that it’s put upside down, also, this method is useful for fruit kabobs as well).
10. Summer games
If you and your friends are bored on a summer day, then you can have some fun by playing a fun and exciting game. The game is to catch water balloons using a colander. Easy, right? Well, I haven’t finished yet, make sure to hot glue the colander on an old hat or on an old helmet.
11. Toss it in the sandbox
If you had a colander for quite some time and it starts wearing out, don’t throw it, instead, hand it to your kids so that they can play with it in the sandbox or in the pool.
