1. DIY campfire

Camping is a great relaxing and unique hobby, but it requires certain skills and knowledge. As you know, a fire pit is important, but if you don’t have one, make sure to choose a flat ground, put a metal bowl upside down and place a metal colander on top of it, then add in some wood and kindle, gather up around the campfire and start roasting marshmallows and tell horror stories.

2. Protect your picnic food

Eating outdoors with your family can be one of the best and warmest family experiences ever, the problem is that you have to protect your food. To do that, put a colander on your food to protect it from bugs.

3. Store bath toys

Bath toys are incredibly fun to play with when having a bath, but they tend to gather up germs and bacteria scarily fast if not dried well. Put the toys in a colander to organize the toys, let them air dry, and drain out the water.

4. Make a lamp

Colanders have a craft tempting look. There are many things that can be crafted with a colander. For example, you can enlarge a bottom hole, attach a lightbulb fixture, and just like that, you got yourself a DIY lamp.

5. Keep ice fresh for guests

Use colanders and glass bowls instead of ice buckets because they can let the ice melt while dripping the melted water which prevents the other ice cubes from melting quickly.
