Foundation (as the name suggests) is the base of your makeup. But even though it’s the first step, that certainly doesn’t mean it’s the easiest. A flawless foundation can be difficult to achieve, but not with a few clever tricks up your sleeve! These three tips for applying your foundation will help you achieve a flawless result.
1 . Choose the right tool
What you use to apply your foundation is crucial. If some of us rely on sponges or even our fingers, we might want to rethink those methods. Using a dense makeup brush has been shown to spread foundation more evenly than any other tool, making it a smart makeup investment.
- Double-tap
To avoid foundation creases, pat your moisturizer with a tissue after applying it. Do the same when applying foundation, but twice. This technique will prevent foundation from settling into fine lines. For finer lines, such as smile lines, use a fine brush to remove excess makeup before it settles.
- T-Zone
To finish your face look, apply translucent powder to the T-zone only. This area is located on the forehead, nose and chin. This area tends to be the most oily, so finishing powder is really only needed here to get the perfect look.
