How to remove grease stains from range hoods

A lot of things can get on the filters of range hoods. Especially if you use stainless steel cookware, the oil and smoke from your daily cooking can be absorbed by the filter, causing it to rust, mold, and just look gross. Would you want to cook and entertain in a kitchen where the hood filter is covered in dirt? We think not. If you want to clean your hood filter, but don’t know where to start, it’s not unreasonable. The hood filter is the one part of the kitchen that no one ever teaches you how to clean. But don’t worry, it’s not a problem. Make sure you check your exhaust fan filters regularly to keep them from getting dirty. If you like to fry food, you should check it more often. That’s because your filter may not look so hot.

But try this simple trick for your current filter.

What you need.

  • OxyClean.
  • Hot water.
  • Bucket.

You can use other products like dish detergent or hot steam, but this method works very well.

Step 1: Fill the bucket with boiling water.
Step 2: Add a few tablespoons of OxyClean.
Step 3: Place the filter in it and let it sit for 10-30 minutes.
Step 4: If necessary, scrub with a bristle brush.
Step 5: Allow to dry and replace the filter.
