Pioneer Woman’s Backstory. When I lived in the country, I often had to learn to improvise because many recipes lacked key ingredients. When I decided to make this cake, I did this because I usually didn’t have buttermilk in the refrigerator. I poured a little less than 1/2 cup of regular milk into a measuring cup and added 1/2 cup of regular vinegar to that milk. It turns into buttermilk in seconds and works great. Try it sometime.
Add 2 beaten eggs to buttermilk….
A teaspoon of vanilla….
And a teaspoon of baking soda. Mix the two together.
Add the buttermilk mix to the chocolate and flour mixture.
Mix well.
