You’ve probably experienced that moment of dread when you spill some oily food on your outfit. Grease and oil are up there with red wine and tomato sauce when it comes to hard-to-remove stains. However, there is a little-known recipe for removing stubborn grease stains that works even better than the most powerful store-bought products.

Big thanks to Budget 101 for this genius tip!

To make your own “Super Laundry Sauce” (which is a detergent as well as a stain remover), you will need:

5.5 oz bar of Fels Naptha Soap

3 cups of water

1 cup of 20 Mule Team Borax Powder

1 cup of Arm & Hammer Washing Soda (not baking soda)

2 mason jars

Blender

All you have to do is blend together all of the ingredients, then cover the stain with the solution. Let the stain sit overnight, then wash the garment in the washing machine as you normally would. When the item comes out, the stain will be gone!

Keep a jar of the “Super Laundry Sauce” in your laundry room for future stains, because let’s face it — they’re inevitable! Although this may seem like an odd combination of ingredients, you can find most of them at your local grocery store, and this solution seriously works. Don’t believe me? Just check out this before-and-after from Budget 101.
