I think it’s safe to assume that everyone has a bit of plastic wrap around the house. You probably often use plastic wrap to store leftover food, but did you know that this household product can actually be used in many different ways? Here they are!

1. Prevents Kitchen Messes

If you’re about to mix a bunch of dry ingredients in a stand mixer and don’t want a mess all over your counters, wrap the entire outside of the mixer with plastic wrap.

2. Protect Paint Rollers

To keep a paint roller from drying out and getting ruined, wrap it in plastic wrap.

3. Keeps Your Fridge Clean

To keep the shelves in your fridge clean, wrap them all with plastic wrap! When they become dirty, simply peel them off.

4. Keep Drafts Out

If your windows are letting a nasty draft in, you can seal them all up with plastic wrap. This isn’t the most aesthetically pleasing look, but it’s useful for closing up cottages and cabins in the wintertime.

To keep fresh-cut flowers looking great, wrap the end of the stems with some damp paper towel, then cover the paper towel with plastic wrap.

6. Fruit Fly Trap

To get rid of fruit flies, fill a small bowl with a bit of apple cider vinegar and a few drops of liquid dish soap. Cover the bowl with plastic wrap, then use a toothpick to poke small holes in the top. Fruit flies will be attracted to the sweet, acidic scent but will be unable to climb out of the bowl.
