Eggs are some of the most versatile foods on the planet. You can boil them, fry them, or even eat them raw. Nothing takes away of their taste. You can also use them for things other than nutrition such as skincare, cleaning and so many other things. However, did you know that the eggshells are also useful, and perhaps even more so than the actual eggs?

Well, they are! The eggshell is composed of 90% calcium, which is one of the best minerals for bone health. Here are five ways to use them!

   1. Compost amplifier

Crush a few eggshells and add them to your compost. It will make it more nutrititious and help your plants grow faster and stronger.

   2. Skincare

Eggshells are extremely helpful to skin, for the calcium in them helps the body replace the old skin cells and treat skin irritation.

   Ingredients

  •    2 eggshells
  •    15 cl apple cider vinegar

   Instructions

Crush the eggshells in a bowl with the apple cider vinegar, then leave them overnight. Dab some of it on your skin and let it rest for 10 minutes. The mixture will help keep your skin clean and healthy.

   3. Vermin repellent

Add some crushed eggshells to your plants’ pots to keep the vermins at bay, for they dislike the eggshells and will stray as far from them as possible.

   4. Use it a fertilizer

Adding some crushed eggshells to your garden’s soil will work as a great fertilizer.

   5. Bitter coffee

Add some crushed eggshells to your coffee grinder to make your coffee less bitter.
