When it comes to creating the perfect personalized gifts – especially for grandparents! – there’s nothing better than a family photo full of smiling faces. Until now, that meant one of two things: a Christmas ornament or a simple photo frame.
Don’t you think it’s time to find more creative ways to share photos that don’t take up all the space on the tree or mantel? There are only so many times we can give the same type of gift.
What’s Up Moms did, and she found THREE fun ideas you can easily make at home, starting with a DIY photo candle! You may think it’s impossible to put a childhood photo on a candle, but with this easy-to-follow project, you can make this unique gift in a snap.
If you’re not a fan of this candle, try making a photo bookmark for the bookworm in your life or personalized coasters for the entertainer in your family! There’s a little something for everyone in this great gift video.

- Tracing paper
- Blow dryer
- Start by drawing your image onto your tracing paper or printing the image right onto the tracing paper.
- Once your photo is on the paper, cut it out.
- Wrap the photo around your plain candle and wrap a piece of parchment paper around the image.
- Blow dry the image onto the candle on a medium-high heat for 3-5 minutes. When you pull the parchment paper away, the image will be permanently ingrained on your candle.
